Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid & Scholarships

The New School , a progressive and rigorous university located in New York City, seeks a new Assistant Vice Provost (AVP) for Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Following a restructuring in the enrollment division, this re-envisioned position is an excellent financial aid leadership opportunity. The AVP for Financial Aid and Scholarships will lead a team of 16 staff members charged with administering a financial aid program consisting of federal, state and institutional funds that exceed $150 million annually. In addition to undergraduate students, the office of financial aid serves The New School's graduate, adult and continuing, and online programs. The New School is a highly collaborative environment, and in addition to leading an efficient and effective financial aid operation, the successful candidate will be a generous and diplomatic communicator who excels at bringing stakeholders together to support effective and equitable financial aid operations.

As a leader at a university made up of multiple schools and colleges, the AVP will navigate a complex, and service-oriented operation. A deep understanding of the financial aid landscape and its ongoing changes and an ability to adapt a strategy to accommodate those developments will be foundational qualities for the next leader. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in financial aid.
