Professor of Performing Arts

SCAD seeks a full-time performing arts professor to join a dedicated performing arts department in Atlanta, Georgia, ranked among The Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 Film Schools.

In this position, you will help students develop skills in a creative environment with an emphasis on professional training for careers in film, television, and theater. In addition to leading a variety of courses, you will demonstrate model leadership, foster a positive learning environment, fulfill departmental duties, and contribute to the university’s mission and strategic goals.

The successful candidate should have on-camera credits for both film and television. The ability to teach on-camera acting fundamental performance techniques to undergraduate students is essential. SAG and/or AFTRA membership is highly preferred, as are industry connections and experience teaching acting at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree in performing arts or in a relevant field
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Ability to be credentialed through SACS guidelines of justified to teach

Travel Required: Less than 10%

Work Hours: As noted in the employment agreement.
