Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology

The Hope College Biology Department (https://hope.edu/academics/biology/) invites applications for a visiting position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 2023. This is a one-year position with a possible one-year renewal. Candidates must have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience preferred, and be broadly trained in Biology. Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching in Introductory Biology and/or our core courses of Genetics and Evolution. 

The Department of Biology has long been one of the nation’s premier undergraduate Biology programs. The Department offers BA and BS degrees, a biochemistry and molecular biology major (jointly with the Chemistry Department), and an interdisciplinary neuroscience major and minor. Undergraduate education through excellent classroom teaching with appropriate modern pedagogies integrated with authentic faculty scholarship with undergraduate student collaborators is a hallmark of our program. The Biology Department is housed in the A. Paul Schaap Science Center. The Department has a broad range of modern instrumentation that is used in research and teaching. 

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience preferred, and be broadly trained in Biology. Primary teaching responsibilities will include teaching in Introductory Biology and/or our core courses of Genetics and Evolution.
