Media Archives Coordinator

By using existing files and metadata you will generate and provide specific naming conventions that will be distributed to all staff and freelance photographers for photoshoots. In addition, the coordinator will review and correct as necessary all files for naming and metadata accuracy before delivering images for archiving. The media archives coordinator will utilize the photo trafficking system to coordinate workflow of imagery from various stages to the distribution of final images and archiving. It is crucial that the coordinator can clearly communicate details and instructions throughout the process.

Additionally, the coordinator will receive and organize photography files and distribute them into SCAD’s file folder and must catalog the digital and film archives. Assisting with the tracking of department highlights such as awards and press placement is expected. The coordinator is partially responsible for the input and organization of photography assets from all locations while assessing the requirements of archive requests, accurately pulling and delivering appropriate images with a sense for the contextual end usage. Occasionally, this position will find creative solutions for fulfilling requests for high-level projects such as presidential presentations, academic catalogs, and board reports. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in library science
  • Professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Accurate communication and meticulous organizational talent
  • Museum, exhibition, library, or art-management experience
  • Knowledge of digital asset management systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to three years of experience in a related role
  • Experience with film scanning and Epson Scan

Travel Required: Less than 10%

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
