Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Coordinator for Student Diversity Recruitment & Retention in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Primary Job Duties:  Develop and implement strategic marketing and programming, with a cultural lens, to support the recruitment and retention of undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds through a combination of recruitment, participation in local events, and coordination of on-campus programs as well as forming strategic partnerships with local businesses, alumni (in collaboration with Alumni Affairs) and organizations on the Eastern Shore and across the state of Maryland. Provide constant collaboration with the Office of Admissions, Office of Orientation, Transition & Family Programs and Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI). Represent the University and ODI at on-campus events such as Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, Scholars Day, etc., as well as off-campus events in the local area and surrounding communities such as tournaments, festivals, community programs and promotional opportunities; high schools, college fairs and other recruitment events. Connect with prospective and current students to provide information about diversity efforts at the University by designing and managing on-campus visit opportunities for students and their families and collaborate with various units across campus to develop programs and initiatives that support the retention of diverse undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related experience.

Strong communications skills, ability to present persuasively in front of an audience, relationship building, attention to detail, high motivation to achieve goals, professional presentation. Must have excellent organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through and time management skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Must possess a valid Maryland non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license with 5 or less points for moving violations.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and professional experience in an educational environment, communication, sales, marketing, and bi-lingual in English/Spanish are preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits packages. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
