Vice President for Equity and Inclusive Excellence
Goucher College seeks a collaborative, innovative leader with exceptional creative, analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills to join the leadership team as its Inaugural Vice President for Equity and Inclusive Excellence (VPEIE), reporting directly to President Kent Devereaux. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the VPEIE will partner with the president, provost, senior leaders, and the board to provide comprehensive, strategic, and operational leadership across the College to advance the institution's strategic goals with respect to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice and its connection to student success.

Goucher College is a small, private, residential liberal arts institution in Towson, Maryland, serving approximately 1,100 undergraduate and 900 graduate and post-baccalaureate students from across the United States and 34 countries around the world. The new VPEIE will join the College during an exciting time of transformation in higher education in general and at Goucher specifically, which is launching innovative new programs, forging creative new partnerships, and modernizing administrative systems and processes across the College.

The VPEIE will oversee the Center for Race, Equity, and Inclusion (CREI) as well as the Office of Title IX, the innovative LAUNCH network program designed to support first-generation students as well as students from historically marginalized communities. In addition, the VPEIE will coordinate with the Center for the Advancement for Scholarship & Teaching (CAST) to advance professional development opportunities for all undergraduate and graduate faculty; with the Associate Vice President for Human Resources to advance the diversity of faculty and staff hiring; with the Associate Vice President of the Library and Learning Commons who directs the College's Hallowed Ground Project, an ongoing research initiative to recognize the contributions of both the Native American and formerly enslaved individuals who lived upon the land the College now occupies, and with the Vice President for Finance & Administration to align the College's policies and practices with the recently enacted Maryland Corporate Diversity Regulations.

The VPEIE will be strategic and results-driven with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of success in similarly broad and complex roles of progressively greater responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent relationship-building capabilities, and strong verbal and written communication skills. The VPEIE will possess good business judgment, an analytical mindset, capacity for flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities, and sound, thoughtful decision-making abilities.
