Assistant Facilities Manager

As the assistant facilities manager you will step in for the manager and fulfill all duties when the manager is out of the office and will assist the executive director with all work. You will be responsible for managing preventative-maintenance vendors and contractors, creating PM schedules, hiring and coordinating, obtaining bids, inspecting work, billing and collecting, and logging insurance information. The assistant facilities manager will monitor all special assignments through completion and will manage each aspect of summer residence hall flips.

The AFM will ensure vehicles are properly maintained and tagged and is expected to develop and maintain documents pertaining to safety measures. The handling of e-commerce and financial reports, reservation management, all inspections, quality control, customer service, and work orders fall under the AFM’s responsibilities. Additional duties include managing guest houses, necessary cleanings, completing projects on time, and other jobs as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • High-level of expectation for quality work with an eye for detail
  • Must be a self-starter with logical organization and time-management skills
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in maintenance and construction
  • Ability to learn work order system and MySCAD-related systems
  • Drawing skills in Autocad or Revit

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license and acceptance as a SCAD authorized driver

Travel Required: Less than 10%

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
