Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez and the Board of Trustees of The City University of New York (CUNY) invite nominations and applications for an experienced and forward-thinking leader to serve as the next president of the College of Staten Island (CSI), recognized as one of the country's top-performing colleges for its ability to serve as a catalyst for students to move up the academic and economic ladder.

The successful candidate will serve as the eighth president of CSI. They will be expected to share a deep commitment and responsibility to the college's mission: to serve as an engine of economic and social mobility, particularly for students from modest backgrounds. The successful candidate will not only be a visionary who will define the college's next chapter, but also a dedicated and entrepreneurial leader and manager who is committed to equality, fairness and the virtues of diversity.

A four-year senior college in The City University of New York ( ) system, CSI provides exceptional opportunities to all students and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as certificate and continuing education programs.

Completed in 1994, the 204-acre Willowbrook campus of CSI is the largest in New York City. It is fully accessible and contains a state-of-the-art networked infrastructure to support technology-based teaching, learning and research. Set in a park-like landscape, the campus is centrally located on Staten Island. Mature trees and woodlands, flowering trees and ornamental plantings, sculptures, fields and outdoor athletic facilities, the great lawn and multiple seating areas all help create a rural oasis in an urban setting.

CSI is home to The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business, School of Education and School of Health Sciences, as well as The Verrazano School Honors Program ( ) and the Teacher Education Honors Academy ( ). CSI is also a select campus of the Macaulay Honors College University Scholars program: .

Dolphin Cove, CSI's innovative on-campus housing complex, continues to house students from across New York City, the United States and the world with apartment-style luxury suites.

In addition to the main Willowbrook Campus, CSI has a location in the St. George neighborhood ( ). This extension of the CSI campus is home to a dynamic 16,000-square-foot facility that is centrally located at the island's transportation hub, with convenient access for students commuting from Staten Island's North Shore, as well as Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

The CSI Tech Incubator ( ) fosters a community of tech innovators and entrepreneurs that are seeking to advance and grow their startups. CSI Tech Incubator has a robust technological ecosystem with strategic mentors, industry professionals, faculty, sponsors, government leaders and a dedicated tactical team with the mutual goal of supporting and elevating entrepreneurs.

The president of the college and their cabinet work to ensure effective day-to-day leadership and management of every aspect of the institution. In addition, the president focuses on the future course of the college, formulating dynamic programs and goals through strategic planning, to propel CSI into an ever-changing future in which it will continue to serve students, faculty and staff, as well as the greater community.

By working closely with dedicated and talented administrators, faculty, and staff, and leveraging the unique resources of CUNY, the nation's leading urban public university, CSI's next president will have the opportunity to lead a new era of success for a uniquely situated institution and position it for even greater impact.

The new president will be a skillful leader and manager, both internally and externally; bring a commitment to shared governance and engagement; be a champion of the mission of public education; and understand and greatly extend the important social and economic role CSI plays in its community. The president will serve as a spokesperson for the institution's mission and values; be a persuasive advocate for CSI at the system, borough, city, state and federal levels; and lead efforts to raise new resources from the college's many constituents and the community at large.

The president will manage a budget of more than $100 million and provide leadership for a senior cabinet comprised of the provost, vice presidents, and senior members of the president's office. The president should be committed to the students and faculty as the core of the institution and empower them through collaborative management and shared values.
