Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean for the School of Business (SOB). The dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School and reports to the provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs. SIUE seeks a transformational leader and visionary strategic thinker who is committed to student success and is excited about working in and serving the region.

SIUE is located on 2,660+ acres of beautiful woodland atop the bluffs overlooking the natural beauty of the Mississippi River's rich bottomland and only a short drive from downtown St. Louis. The campus is home to a diverse student body of more than 12,000 students pursuing graduate and undergraduate degrees. SIUE is a nationally recognized institution that provides students with a high-quality education, which powerfully transforms their lives. The School is organized into four academic departments: Accounting, Computer Management and Information Systems, Economics & Finance, and Management & Marketing.The School of Business is among a select 5% of the business programs worldwide that are accredited by AACSB International-the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The school also holds separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, a distinction that can only be claimed by only 25% of all AACSB-accredited institutions. The SIUE School of Business offers two undergraduate degrees with 10 specializations and four graduate degrees with five specializations. ThePrinceton Reviewhas named the SOB one of the best on-campus MBA programs in the country byfor the 17th consecutive year and included SIUE on its list of Best Business Schools for 2023 .

The successful candidate will be a transformational, entrepreneurial and dynamic academic leader who will advocate for and ensure the ongoing vitality of the School of Business, with clear dedication to both its mission and its commitment to research and discovery and engagement in the region. The next dean should be prepared to collaborate with the provost, other deans and the SIU system on issues related to academic operations. The successful candidate should have a demonstrable and abiding commitment to ensure anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion within the School's operations and outcomes. In particular, the dean should be ready to support EDI in terms of student success, faculty and staff recruitment and retention.

The new dean is required to have an earned doctorate from an accredited university in one the fields offered by the school or in a closely related field with sufficient accomplishments for appointment as a tenured faculty member in a department of the School. The next dean will be a strong leader who will advocate for the SOB with university administration and inspire action in faculty & staff. In addition, the next dean must demonstrate success in scholarship, teaching excellence, service, corporate engagement and fundraising.
