North Carolina Central University ( NCCU ), a top-ranking historically Black university, invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of University College, which houses Academic Advising, Academic Success and Enrichment Services, Student-Athlete Academic Support, Student Academic Success, and Training and Development. NCCU is seeking an experienced, visionary, entrepreneurial, innovative, and student-centered leader to serve as the Dean.

Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, with a dotted line to
the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Dean will serve as the chief academic officer for the College and is responsible for establishing the strategic vision and goals of this important unit. The Dean will provide administrative oversight for all aspects of the college that include fiscal management, personnel professional development, and the executive oversight of academic services to support student success and retention. The Dean will also have responsibilities for external initiatives that include community outreach, fundraising, and other duties as assigned. Finally, the Dean will provide a significant institutional leadership role in the development, operation, and coordinated activities related to student retention and success.

Minimum qualifications include a Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D, J.D., etc.) and a minimum of three years (at the Director, Associate/Assistant Dean, Department Chair, or Dean level) successful administrative experience or demonstrated leadership experience related to the duties of the position.
