As a public relations manager, you will promote the SCAD community and select SCAD schools and signature events to foster positive, ongoing coverage for the university. This includes announcement of awards, recognition, partnerships, events, and conferences, and as well as the development of trending stories and special initiatives that actively advance the university's mission. You will write press materials, pull media lists, and assemble press clippings; oversee interviews and small press events, and research and implement regional media strategies in key admission markets that elevate student and alumni success.
You will assist in the development of special initiatives, liaise with SCAD's larger communication branch (e.g., visual media, interactive, social media, project managers), and create detailed talking points and prep materials for all interviews and/or events that are press-related. You will pitch programming and industry guest ideas for SCAD events that directly align with university curriculum and missions. Among other duties, you will also work with identified spokespeople to ensure they are trained to handle media relations, to include briefs on particular situations as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver's license
Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Bachelor of Art degree in a relevant discipline
- Three to four years of professional experience in public relations in the following industries: design, business, art and culture publications, social media platforms, or broadcasting
