The Communications Coach is primarily responsible for the successful execution of SCAD’s mission by supporting students in improving presentation skills across formal and informal contexts, with an emphasis on verbal and interpersonal communication. This position is responsible for the development of presentation materials to support classroom visits, as well as established SCADamp workshops. All SCADamp Coaches are responsible for offering out-of-class workshops as well as 1:1 & small group coaching sessions to support in-class learning. Communications coaches will also support a variety of faculty and staff training programs and mentor faculty and staff in the art of communicating ideas in front of executives, board members, business sector leads, project managers, in the classroom and to peers.

The Communications Coach is a spectacular communicator, both written and verbal, and uses these skills to develop and strengthen SCADamp’s reach across the university community.

Position Summary:
SCAD Savannah seeks an energetic communications coach to support remarkable students as they work to improve their presentation abilities across formal and informal contexts.

In this full-time position, you will guide students as they grow their interpersonal and verbal communication skills through out-of-class workshops and one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions. You will develop presentation materials to support classroom visits and established SCADamp workshops as well as support faculty and staff training programs. Among other duties, you will also mentor faculty and staff in the art of communication when in front of executives, board members, business sector leads, project managers, in the classroom, and to their peers.

The successful candidate is a spectacular written and verbal communicator who uses these abilities to deliver dazzling presentations. The candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and can use their quick thinking and presentation prowess to strengthen SCADamp’s reach across the university. The ability to independently prioritize and manage projects with efficiency is essential, as is the capacity to think critically and remain organized. The candidate should have applied international experience in communications situations and be enthusiastic about working with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, drama, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in multiple presentation platforms like Keynote and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management and public speaking skills

Certificates, licenses and registrations: Valid drivers license

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
