The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for the inaugural Director of the School of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, the inaugural school director will have the unique opportunity to operationalize and lead a new school central to ASU’s commitments to educational access and student success, teaching and research excellence, and its responsibility for the cultural, social and economic vitality of the communities we serve. The Director will provide administrative leadership and academic vision, and will engage a diverse faculty to create a productive, collegial environment that advances the school’s goals. The Director will provide strong leadership in recruiting and retaining faculty, in fostering excellence in teaching and mentoring, in developing and advancing distinctive academic programs, in promoting scholarship and external research funding, in supporting and implementing strategic diversity initiatives related to faculty, staff and students, and in fostering internal and external relationships including opportunities for student success with industry partners.

The new School of Applied Sciences and Arts integrates the values and features of a liberal arts and sciences education with pre-professional and applied degree pathways. The school will be home to nearly 2800 enrolled students 170 tenured/tenure-track and career-track faculty members.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or terminal degree; a record of excellence warranting appointment as a Full Professor with tenure at ASU and evidence of successful leadership in an academic context. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of the academic community and who are dedicated to advancing the ASU Charter and realizing our Design Aspirations through inclusive and equitable practices. This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in Arizona. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
