VISITING PROFESSOR POSITION IN PHYSICS

The W.M. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, and Scripps College

The W.M. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges (members of the 7-member Claremont Colleges Consortium) seeks to hire a visiting professor in physics beginning July 1, 2023. The position is a one-year appointment with the possibility of continuation. We seek an individual with demonstrated passion and excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarship. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or an engineering-related field and be able to teach a wide range of upper-division and entry-level courses. All areas of physics will be considered. The ability to supervise senior thesis research projects is desirable. Keck Science is an integrative science department composed of faculty and staff in biology, chemistry, environmental science, neuroscience, and physics. The physics discipline within Keck also oversees an active 3-2 pre-engineering program.   The Claremont Colleges are situated in the Los Angeles basin in the charming town of Claremont, 35 miles east of downtown LA, and are within a one-hour drive of Caltech, UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside. 

The salary for this position will range from $72,000-$96,000 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
