IT will provide technology solutions, expert consultation, and leadership resulting in numerous enhancements to the advancement of learning and knowledge and to the effectiveness of campus support services and business processes for the entire University.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The Deputy Chief Information Officer will contribute to providing central leadership and management for the design, development, maintenance of campus-wide computing and communications for faculty, staff and students.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;THE POSITION: &lt;/strong&gt;The Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the VP/Chief Information Officer of the Information Technology &amp;amp; Institutional Planning (IT&amp;amp;IP) Division. Under the direction of the VP/CIO, the incumbent will coordinate many of the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology (IT) components of the division. The incumbent will serve as the delegate with authority for the information technology organization when the VP/CIO is temporarily or unexpectedly unavailable. The incumbent will coordinate with the VP/CIO to oversee, architecture planning, change management, incident tracking, and new service rollout and enhancements. The incumbent will also be responsible for tracking division metrics, and reporting. This position is also responsible for tracking with the VP/CIO the ongoing management of information technology policies, and procedures in order to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of campus-wide systems. Directs the governance activities related to IT by overseeing the adoption of IT policies and procedures.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The incumbent will partner with the IT&amp;amp;IP Council to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the internal controls and assessment process, monitor regulations for new or changed requirements. This role will assist senior management in identifying control gaps and associated remediation plans, and that policies and procedures are updated in a timely manner. The position will maintain awareness of external regulations for new or changed requirements within IT and identify industry standards from which to modify core IT risk processes.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This position will interface with a diverse team of managers, technical professionals, administrative staff and student assistants.&amp;nbsp; The Deputy CIO serves as a member of the IT&amp;amp;IP Council and the IT&amp;amp;IP Leadership Team and works in collaboration with other leaders in IT&amp;amp;IP and other University Divisions to support the university&amp;rsquo;s strategic plan.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: &lt;/strong&gt;Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor&amp;rsquo;s degree in a field of study reasonably related to the work. Eight years of management experience in an information technology, information security, IT project management, or an IT audit role. Experience with implementing and or operating with IT governance or IT risk and compliance processes in large scale IT organizations. 5+ years of direct leadership experience and established track record of successfully and directly managing IT budgets and support staff. Excellent communication skills with experience preparing and presenting information clearly and concisely, in writing and orally, to a wide-range of internal, external and customer constituencies, including technical and non-technical executives.&amp;nbsp; Demonstrate an ability to learn from mistakes Possess a balance of highly developed management skills as well as specialized technical expertise. Ability to develop collaborative relationships with faculty and technical and non-technical management and professional staff representing various interests and perspectives. Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to develop an environment that promotes partnership and transparency with other organizations. Ability to manage and motivate technical staff members. Ability to analyze complex situations such as personnel or operational issues and to develop and implement corrective actions and strategies for department-wide success. Strong analytical and technical skills. High ethical standards and business acumen. Ability to represent the VP/CIO on off-campus meetings. Ability to work in the evenings and weekends as needed. Commitment to work in an inclusive environment.&amp;nbsp; Ability to maintain a professional temperament. Demonstrate an ability to learn from mistakes. &amp;nbsp;This position will require the incumbent to work with a diverse population, including other campus technical staff, management personnel and both technical and non-technical users, including faculty, staff and students and thus requires excellent oral and written technical and communications skills and a solid technical understanding of centralized information technology services in a university setting.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:&lt;/strong&gt; Master&amp;rsquo;s degree in Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related discipline. 5 years&amp;rsquo; experience in a Senior Management role in an Information Technology organization in a University environment. Significant experience in a large, complex and diverse public sector information technology organization. Demonstrated experience with successful implementation of large-scale projects.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;APPOINTMENT DATE/SALARY: &lt;/strong&gt;The University seeks to have a Deputy CIO in place by August 2018.
