Administrative Assistant

As a full-time administrative assistant, you will support the painting department and its dean, chair, faculty, and staff with its initiatives and collaborative projects, including classroom scheduling, housekeeping, and SCAD Day preparation. You will greet visitors, maintain supply inventory, and coordinate quarterly report submissions from faculty. Among other duties, you will also collaborate with other SCAD departments, including accreditation initiatives with institutional effectiveness, recruitment with admission, student matters with student success, the registrar, the office for career and alumni success, SCADpro, and more.

The successful candidate demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills while exhibiting a commitment to honesty, discipline, integrity, and confidentiality. An eye for detail and accuracy is essential, and the candidate should possess advanced project- and people-management abilities. Always punctual and professional, the candidate is highly organized and responsive and can manage multiple priorities with ease. The ability to thrive as both an individual and team-based contributor is also a must.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • One to three years of relevant experience in an academic environment
  • Proficient with computers, including software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Banner (or similar database)

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
