Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) is South Texas' premier university, offering exceptional academic programs and degrees, awarding more scholarships, and producing more successful graduates than any other college or university in the region. To advance the University's mission of enrolling a diverse community of learners and innovators, TAMUK is seeking inquiries, nominations, and applications for a new Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM).

The University is committed to its mission of teaching, research, and service in South Texas for the advancement of knowledge and regional development. TAMUK seeks to provide quality undergraduate and graduate programs for nearly 6,500 students of all ages through a judicious blend of liberal and career-education programs. The emphasis is on providing an intellectually challenging education reflecting high standards of academic performance. TAMUK is dedicated to serving an ethnically and culturally diverse population, and the University truly transforms the lives of its students and their families. With a student population that is 71% Hispanic, TAMUK is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution. Additionally, 60% of TAMUK students are Pell, and 55% are first generation.

Reporting to Dr. Robert H. Vela Jr., who began his tenure as president on June 15, 2022, the Vice President for Enrollment Management will bring strategy, vision, and creativity to university-wide enrollment at TAMUK. The VPEM will come to TAMUK during an important point in its history, joining new leadership that is particularly driven and ambitious. Enrollment will mirror this momentum and drive, and the VPEM will provide transformational leadership for recruitment, admissions, scholarships, student financial aid, and military and veteran resources. A forward-thinking plan for enrollment will include cutting-edge technology, the best use of data, and exceptional communication to put forward TAMUK's mission and attract more students from the region as well as nationally and internationally.

The new leader will bring significant professional experience to manage the complex interplay of marketing and recruiting strategies, enrollment goals and revenue targets, yield, and financial aid. While university experience is a plus, TAMUK welcomes applications from non-traditional sources who will express how they might reimagine university recruitment and student services. The University seeks an out-of-the-box thinker who is able to connect with regional high schools, community colleges, the college counseling community, and others to build relationships and strategic partnerships.

Critical to their success will be the VPEM's ability to grasp, embrace, and greatly extend the mission of TAMUK as a keystone institution that is dedicated to the community it serves. The ability to enroll students from varying backgrounds and experiences, including traditional, transfer, international, and adult learners, will be important. Of equal significance, the VPEM will possess a deep and authentic commitment to the values of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, including a proven record of advocacy for students who are traditionally marginalized and underrepresented in higher education. The successful candidate will be an exceptional member of a senior team that values collaboration, inclusivity, and transparency.
