CSUMB is a comprehensive, mid-sized, four-year university of 7,100 students and has earned designation as both a Minority-Serving Institution and a Hispanic-Serving Institution. With 56% of students living on campus, CSUMB is the most residential university in the CSU system and boasts a vibrant campus culture. CSUMB currently has 194 tenure-line faculty and 298 lecturers, an alumni base of 24,000, and a current annual operating budget of $123 million. While CSUMB serves students from across California and beyond, 42% of the University's undergraduates come from Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties. Given the University's commitment to the success of every student, the faculty, staff, and administration have successfully increased student retention and completion in comparison to the rest of the CSU. The campus community prides itself on making world-class higher education accessible to traditionally underserved, first-generation, and low-income populations. Seven colleges house CSUMB's academic programs. The University currently offers a total of 25 undergraduate degrees with more than 30 concentrations, 36 minors, nine graduate degrees, and many teacher-credential options.

Monterey Bay is on the central coast of California, just two hours south of San Francisco. The bay itself is one of the largest marine protected preserves in the world and home to whales, deep sea anglerfish, and the sea otter, CSUMB's mascot. The CSUMB campus is close to pristine beaches, oak forests, tidepools, and the Fort Ord National Monument. Monterey has ideal weather: Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 44°F to 68°F and is rarely below 37°F or above 77°F.

Under the general direction of the President, the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (VPEMSA) is the senior administrator responsible for providing executive guidance, direction, and policy formation for the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Division . As a member of the President's Cabinet and Senior Leadership team, the VPEMSA has the primary leadership role for enrollment management services and develops a comprehensive enrollment management plan that supports overall institutional strategic goals and leads to an integrated recruitment and admissions effort. This position is also responsible for all aspects of a comprehensive student life program and works collaboratively with senior administrators, student leaders, faculty, and staff to create a campus environment that contributes positively to the overall student academic experience. This administrator fosters student learning in all dimensions of student life and has a strong commitment to diversity and a student-centered philosophy.

The following departments operate through the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Division: Admissions, Athletics, Campus Health Center, Child Development Center, Dean of Students, Early Outreach & Support Programs, Financial Aid, Judicial Affairs, Otter Student Union, Personal Growth & Counseling Center, Registrar, Student Activities & Leadership Development, Student Disability Resources, Student Housing & Residential Life, and Student Veteran Services.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (a master's degree is preferred) and a significant and progressive record of higher education leadership in student affairs or enrollment management appropriate for service in this role.

Desirable Qualifications: A record of successful leadership in recruitment, yield, and retention programs and management of the full array of enrollment and student services functions at a college or university. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to CSUMB's vision and core values. Experience working with a diverse and multicultural population.
