Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty

Albertus Magnus College invites applications for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Dean of the Faculty. Reporting to the College president, the VPAA is responsible for leading and cultivating a student-centric learning environment that promotes academic collaboration, innovation, excellence, and integrity. Since the arrival of Albertus President, Dr. Marc M. Camille, in June 2017, the College is enjoying a time of extraordinary growth and momentum, from which the new VPAA will benefit and to which she/he will be a key contributor moving forward. Awareness of and demand for the College’s practical, liberal arts- and values-based education continues to grow. Full time traditional aged undergraduate enrollments are at all-time high levels, and fundraising has dramatically improved, with plans underway for a comprehensive campaign to coincide with the College’s Centennial Anniversary in 2025-26. The VPAA will have the opportunity and expectation to help shape the strategic direction of Albertus Magnus as a whole and to lead a new era of academic strategy at Albertus Magnus College.

Located on a park-like campus in a residential neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut, Albertus Magnus is a Catholic college in the Dominican tradition. The College is a diverse and dynamic institution serving approximately 1,300 students at the traditional undergraduate, accelerated adult undergraduate, and master’s degree program levels.

The VPAA is the Chief Academic Officer of the College, responsible for administrative oversight and leadership of all academic programs, career services, and academic support services, including academic assessment initiatives and academic strategic planning efforts. The VPAA will be a seasoned scholar and administrator who can build upon Albertus’ recent momentum and successful growth while bringing from their past experience a passion for the pursuit of academic excellence. As a key representative of Albertus Magnus College both on and off campus, the VPAA must be committed to upholding the key principles of the College’s mission, which derive from its Catholic identity and Dominican charism. Women and men of all backgrounds and faiths are welcome and encouraged to apply.
