The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Management beginning in the 2023-24 academic year. The Management faculty offer courses as part of the core for all undergraduate and graduate business majors as well as an undergraduate major in management.

 

The successful candidate is expected to teach management courses in strategic management and leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A secondary interest in organizational behavior is desired. The successful candidate is expected to bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through classroom teaching and mentorship. As such, there is the opportunity for student engagement through mentoring student activities outside the classroom. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on the main campus in Vermillion, SD, online, and in Sioux Falls, SD. Duties include an annual teaching load of six courses.

 

REQUIRED Qualifications: A Ph.D. or DBA in Management or related field from an accredited business school. Candidates who are ABD will be considered. Other requirements are proficiency in oral and written communication, and enthusiasm for engagement, service, and the public good.

 

PREFERRED Qualifications: Candidates with a Ph.D. or DBA from an AACSB-International accredited business school are preferred. Related professional experience in management is preferred. Experience in teaching strategic management or leadership is preferred.
