Instructor - Economic Development


Duties: Designs, implements and evaluates educational programs in the areas of workforce, entrepreneurship, and other economic development programs within Community and Economic Development. Coordinates program activities and purposes with other Community & Economic Development programs and collaborates with CES faculty ensuring a well-functioning team. Serves as program manager for grant-funded projects, responsible for assisting with fund development, complying with all relevant funder and UA System Division of Agriculture regulations, and ensuring designated services and deliverables are met.

Develops and maintains instructional materials in various formats, including electronic, for delivering formal and informal training and technical assistance to community leaders, entrepreneurs and others. Conducts and/or oversees outreach activities, including presentations to chambers of commerce, economic developers, civic organizations, elected officials, and other key stakeholders.

Required: The position requires a Master’s degree in Economics, Economic Development, Business Administration, Sociology, Public Administration, or closely related field. Prefer: Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience running a business or working at an organization that assists businesses, business owners or entrepreneurs with the following particular skills; working collaboratively across industries, communities, organizations or government agencies, communicating to large groups of people, facilitating groups of people to achieve a common goal or purpose, and analyzing and applying data to make decisions.
