Pulmonary Research Assistant Professor
The Division of Pulmonary in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking a Research Assistant Professor. For this position, we seek qualified candidates with research interests in environmental research related to lung disease, air pollution, and a background in airway innate immunity. Additionally, the successful candidate will have an interest/expertise in developing novel methods to mitigate the effects of environmental insults and climate change on lung diseases. This is a non-tenure track position, and the appointment length will coincide with available funding. Research track faculty must have their entire salaries covered by external funds.
Candidates must have a PhD degree or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral training. Expertise in sampling and analysis of airborne particulate matter, field study work, airway epithelial cell biology, and airway epithelial host defense is required. Candidates must have demonstrated outstanding abilities in research and teaching, and be authorized to work in the U.S. Salary is commensurate to experience.
