Housing & Health Equity Scholar

Rutgers Center for State Health Policy (CSHP), within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy & Aging Research, is recruiting a tenure-track faculty member with experience developing and leading a program of research to join the Housing and Health Equity Cluster. The goal of the Cluster is to advance health equity through research, teaching, and service. This faculty member will work in-residence within CSHP/IFH, engaging primarily with the multi-disciplinary faculty in CSHP and other collaborating units to address housing-related drivers of health and well-being, which can include structural, systemic, institutional, and individual effects of racism and discrimination both past and present.

Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in a discipline such as economics, political science, psychology, or sociology; an applied field such as law, public policy, health services research, or epidemiology; or a clinical degree combined with advanced research training and experience. Candidates will also have strong quantitative training and experience in econometric, biostatistical, predictive modeling, or related methods applied to large administrative datasets. Other core qualifications include:

1)    An excellent record of high-impact publication addressing housing-related determinants of population health and health equity.

2)    A successful record, consistent with rank, obtaining peer-reviewed extramural support from funders such as the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and private foundations.

3)    Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and with diverse stakeholders.

4)    Demonstrated record of mentorship and teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level on content relevant to the focus of the hiring cluster.
