An exciting opportunity exists for a new Dean to further the Faculty of Education to even greater heights, both provincially and nationally. Reporting to the Provost and VicePresident, Academic, and working in collaboration with the Associate Deans, the Dean provides leadership to the Faculty, including long-term strategic planning, commitment to student success, research, academic development, advancement, and the management of financial, administrative and human resources. The Dean plays a major role in linking the Faculty with the education community and external stakeholders.

The Dean will bring a successful track record as an experienced leader, respected in the academic and professional fields of education, with recognized personal integrity, proven skills in administration and fiscal management, and the ability to articulate a compelling, collective vision. Through exceptional people skills, an inclusive approach and respect for diversity, inclusion, decolonization and reconciliation, the Dean is a proven relationshipand community-builder. A demonstrated record of scholarly accomplishment consistent with appointment to full professor at SFU is required.
