Instructor/Lecturer and Medical Laboratory Sciences Program Preceptor, Biological Sciences

.The Department of Biological Sciences at Wright State University invites applications for the position of Program Preceptor of the Medical Laboratory Science Program. Responsibilities include development of clinical testing simulations, development of alternate course delivery modalities, assist program director with curriculum development, serve as preceptor in clinical placements to supervise students in clinical rotations, assist program director with recruitment, retention, and program evaluations.

Essential Functions

50% Teach classes and laboratory experiences.

50% Conducting learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, providing input into curricular development, and developing alternative modalities for courses. Assisting program director to enable working students to complete the MLS program in a timely manner while maintaining their MLT employment.

Required Qualifications

For the rank of Instructor:

  • A medical laboratory professional who has an earned master’s degree.
  • ASCP BOC U.S. generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.

For the rank of Lecturer:

  • A medical laboratory professional who has an earned master’s degree.
  • ASCP BOC U.S. generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
  • 6 years of college-level instructor experience of some combination of college level instruction and MLS management position that sums to 6 years.
