Endocrinology Associate

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics is recruiting a full-time scientist for a position as an Associate for a one-year appointment.  Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and be authorized to work in the U.S.  

The successful candidate will have had hands on experience in the study of mitochondrial dynamics and function in the context of thrombosis. The candidate should also be experienced in surgical techniques such as femoral and carotid artery cannulation, inferior vena cava ligation and gonadectomies.  The candidate must also be specifically adept at the following molecular biology and physiological techniques: megakaryocytes isolation and culture, platelet isolations, aggregation and activation. The applicant must be well published in high impact journals and be capable of successfully and independently writing grant applications.
