The University of Delaware seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next Vice President Information Technology and CIO (VPIT/CIO). Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and serving on the President's senior leadership team, the VPIT/CIO will provide the leadership and vision for IT across the university. The VPIT/CIO will collaborate and partner with senior leaders, faculty, peers and institutional staff to optimally align IT with the goals and strategic direction of the university. The VPIT/CIO will have a central role in the success of several key strategic initiatives including advancing the research computing environment and leading digital transformation efforts in support of academic and operational excellence. The VPIT/CIO will oversee the planning for the upcoming ERP implementation and ongoing investments in cybersecurity.

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT professional with strong leadership and a demonstrated track record in establishing high-performing cultures and elevating IT departments in complex academic institutions. The VPIT/CIO will be a collaborative partner who can build trust, credibility and consensus with constituents across the campus. They will be committed to building a diverse team to serve the university and be skilled at building bridges with partners across the university. The VPIT/CIO will be a forward-thinking, innovative leader with knowledge of new trends in technology supporting education and research and the ability to lead change effectively in a growing and evolving university.
