Assistant Clinical Professor of Educational Leadership

The Department of Educational Leadership invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (non-tenure-line) faculty position available for the 2023-24 academic year. Our department is seeking faculty members with strong interpersonal skills and faculty who value collaborative teaching approaches to promote cross-disciplinary knowledge that will serve our graduates in their careers. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable teaching skills in guiding the growth of academic programs and curricula and working experience in leadership.

Position Function: Major responsibilities include teaching graduate level courses in Educational Leadership, facilitating internship experiences, service to the department, college, and university. In addition, responsibilities include advising students, participating in on campus department, college and university meetings and activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in educational administration, educational leadership, or a related field, from an accredited institution by the date of employment; record of university teaching in the field of educational leadership including online and in a classroom setting; holds or has recently held a leadership position in a public or private school district; and financial management of a P-12 school district.

 

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education including demonstrated record of quality service in higher education and professional organizations, at least five years of successful experience as a superintendent of a P-12 school district; holds administrative licensure for the principalship and superintendency; knowledge and use of technology educational applications; willingness and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners; demonstrated commitment to social justice; interest in working with administrative interns; understanding of current issues and educational policy in P-12 contexts at the state and national level; and experience with educational financial management and current working knowledge of school funding at the state and local level. Preferred candidates will have an active research agenda and a publication record qualifying them to serve on doctoral committees.
