Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, full-time, tenure-track

Department of Computer Science: Assistant Professor, Bowling Green State University. Tenure-track faculty position available August 2023.

 

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will develop a productive research program supported by external funding, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and profession.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems). ABD will be considered as long as the requirements for the degree are completed by August 2023; Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness at the college level (e.g., positive feedback from students, peer, or supervisors on instructional activities such as guest lectures, teaching pedagogy, student mentoring, performance as a teaching assistant, etc.); Demonstrated record of research productivity, with at least one or more peer reviewed journal articles or conference publications that have been accepted; Established research background in a software engineering area, including but not limited to mining software repositories, software development & processes, requirements, or software testing, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, reports, or scientific presentations.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the college level (course instructor, teaching assistant, guest lecturer, teaching practicum), particularly in the areas of software engineering; Research grant experience (e.g., assisting grant proposal development, submitting federal or state grants); Institutional, professional, or community-level service experience.
