Provost and Senior Vice President

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost and Senior Vice President.

 

Reporting to the President, the Provost and Senior Vice President is the chief academic officer of the institution, responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the academic programs and for leading NJIT in fulfilling its academic mission. The Provost will establish and implement an academic vision for NJIT, in collaboration with the deans and faculty, to enhance undergraduate and graduate education and strengthen the institution’s research portfolio by leveraging the numerous opportunities for federal, state, and industry partnerships. The Provost will also be responsible for facilitating faculty, staff, and student success; engaging with alumni and the local community; and leading NJIT to higher levels of achievement, recognition, and reputation.

 

As a ranking member of the President’s Cabinet, the Provost will play an active role in strategic planning, establishing goals, and policy development at the institution. The Provost also serves as a resource for the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees in developing, communicating, and implementing the university’s academic priorities.

 

New Jersey’s public, polytechnic research university, located in Newark, NJIT enrolls approximately 12,000 students across six schools and colleges, and has enjoyed a meteoric rise in many key performance indicators in recent years.
