Position description

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), The Department of Pediatrics ( https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/pediatrics ) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is seeking applicants for positions across our varied Divisions and centers of excellence.

The successful candidates are expected to participate and/or lead in teaching, mentoring, research, clinical care of patients, or service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications


Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent in a relevant field of Pediatrics.

Candidates involved in clinical care must have an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent.

Candidates with an MD must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates with an MD must also be board-certified or board eligible in Pediatrics or Pediatric subspecialties.
