Position Summary: Located on a regional campus of Ohio University, this position serves as the primary undergraduate recruiter for all six campuses within an assigned geographic territory. The Regional Recruitment Manager represents their assigned campus and the University both on- and off-campus to a wide variety of constituents. Under the direction of Undergraduate Admissions and in collaboration with Regional Higher Education leadership, this position will assist in developing and implementing strategies to achieve enrollment goals for their assigned campus as well as for new Athens undergraduates. The position will recommend recruitment strategies addressing a range of complex recruitment, admission, and enrollment needs, and will recommend a tactical recruitment plan based on the needs of the territory. The regional recruitment manager initiates, builds, and maintains relationships with constituents on their assigned campus and within the geographic territory while advising on the breadth and depth of opportunities available at OHIO in order to generate enrollment pipelines from the territory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and Execution of Recruitment Plans in Assigned Recruitment Territory: Located in the service area of a regional campus, the regional recruitment manager represents the campus and the University both on- and off-campus to a wide variety of constituents. Working in close coordination with the regional campus student services office as a member of the larger Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions team, this self-starter develops and executes recruitment plans for the assigned territory; manages activities and attends events occurring within the territory or affecting constituents within it. Counsels, advises, and recommends solutions to constituents on a range of highly complex recruitment, admission, and enrollment processes. Assists with establishing campus recruitment and application goals by leveraging data, advises Undergraduate Admissions of regional needs, and recommends a tactical recruitment plan for the assigned territory in alignment with the Regional Higher Education (RHE) goals, Enrollment Management Plan and Undergraduate Admissions recruitment plan.

Initiates, develops, and maintains relationships with constituents within the territory, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Proactively plans and executes on- and off-campus events to support recruitment, admission, and yield for the assigned territory. Advises Undergraduate Admissions and regional campus leadership of the needs of the area while also connecting constituents with the appropriate on-campus offices. Serves as a primary representative and point of contact for the campus, engaging with local community organizations and participating in community events that impact enrollment, tracking effectiveness and return on investment. Actively engages as a member of the campus community at their regional campus location.

The Regional Recruitment Manager will travel periodically to Athens for training, on-campus events, and interaction with admissions staff and university colleagues.

Counseling and Advising on Admissions and Enrollment Processes: Following a thorough onboarding process, the Regional Recruitment Manager maintains a thorough knowledge of trends in the field of admissions and advises constituents on the breadth and depth of opportunities available at OHIO. This advising occurs primarily through in-person information sessions, individual appointments, phone calls, e-mails, online chats, and interactions within the University’s constituent relationship management system. Manages special recruitment, admission, and yield initiatives and projects on behalf of Undergraduate Admissions and contributes to the success of other initiatives designed to identify, attract, and enroll students in Ohio University’s undergraduate programs. Develops and maintains reports and proactively analyzes data and trends to recommend timely and forward-thinking adjustments to strategy. Suggests procedures and training based on understanding of practices in the area. Identifies, hires, trains, and manages a team of well-qualified student ambassadors to represent the campus and university and to engage with prospective students and families during recruitment and yield initiatives and events. Plans, implements, and evaluates the ambassador program, integrating their efforts with the regional campus and University recruitment strategies. Prepares and delivers ongoing ambassador training. Develops and monitors procedures and processes, including ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements associated with programming that hosts minors on campus.

Evaluation of Admissions Materials: Evaluates applications and supplemental materials for the purposes of making admission decisions. When necessary, conducts thorough, holistic, selective review of an applicant’s candidacy. Determines necessary documentation to support an admission decision and recommends appropriate alternative pathways when admission cannot be offered. Monitors and analyzes historical and current recruitment and admission data and trends, and uses information in decision-making. Provides excellent customer service by being highly visible, responsive and attentive to prospective students, constituents, and external stakeholder needs and inquires, reacting in a timely manner, and utilizing the unique opportunity to provide services as a member of the community. Adheres to the university recruiting and admissions guidelines and professional ethical standards.
