Instructor - Irrigation Educator

Duties: This position will provide education in modern irrigation technology for crop agriculture, targeting county extension agents, crop consultants, growers and the irrigation industry.

A major component of the program will be field demonstrations using surge valves, PHAUCET, irrigation scheduling, pump sensors, irrigation sensors and related technology. In this arena, effective education relies on experiential methods (hands-on). Instructors develop content, write articles, fact sheets, manage website content, and give local, state and other presentations as needed. Instructors actively pursue external funding to enhance the success of the program.

Required: A Master’s degree in an agricultural science, engineering or technical communication/education discipline is required. Demonstrated technical proficiency in equipment operation, safe driving pulling trailers, computer skills, and excellent communication skills appropriate for the target audiences is required.

Preferred: At least three years of technical or educational work experience is highly preferred. Experience in applied research and field demonstrations preferred. Knowledge of statistics, engineering principles, high skill level in math, and multiple crop production desired. Experience with modern irrigation technology highly preferred. Experience in educational assessment preferred
