Lecturer - Computer Science

Summary of Position
The Department of Computer Science at University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a lecturer (non-tenure track) to begin August 2018. Duties include teaching in the undergraduate computer science and information technology programs as well as advising in those programs.

Minimum Requirements
Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related area preferred. Outstanding candidates with M.S. degrees will be considered. Significant teaching experience in introductory undergraduate computer science and information technology courses is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Specialty areas such computer security, networks, operating systems and databases will be preferred.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Computer Science offers a B.S. degree in computer science, a B.S. degree in information technology, an interdisciplinary B.A. degree in digital arts with the Department of Art and Art History, an M.S. degree in computer science and information systems and an interdisciplinary M.S. degree in data science with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
The Computer Science department currently has sixteen full-time faculty members (http://uncw.edu/csc).
