Description: We are seeking two dynamic nursing faculty members to fill our Nursing tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank depending on qualifications. This opportunity is for Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Mental Health or Community Health specialties. The successful candidate will provide theoretical and clinical teaching as well as advising for undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students. He/she will plan and supervise clinical nursing experiences for undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students, and collaborate with faculty in developing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing curriculum. The successful candidate will participate in and initiate professional and scholarly activities in his/her content field, advise nursing students interested in professionally related programs, supervise student research projects, and provide professional-related services to the department, university and community. The Department of Nursing is also currently seeking a Department Chair; senior-level faculty with experience at the Director or Assistant Director level may be considered for this position.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) Master's degree in Nursing from a nationally recognized, regionally accredited school; 2) Meet the requirements for Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank; 3) Minimum of one year teaching experience in clinical area in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program; 4) At least one year full-time clinical experience (within the last five years) in the preferred content area; 5) Eligible to hold an active and clear license to practice as a professional nurse in California; 6) Eligible for approval as a Nursing Instructor by the California Board of Registered Nursing; 7) Possess the health qualifications to teach students in the clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Doctorate in nursing or related field; 2) Eligible for approval as a content expert by the California Board of Registered Nursing; 3) Experience with grant-writing; 4) Family Nurse Practitioner.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSUB employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter: The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set for in CSU Executive Order 1083 and a condition of employment.
