Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is seeking an Associate Vice President for Information Technology & Chief Information Officer . This leader is responsible for creating and implementing a collaborative strategic vision for a wide range of IT services. With an emphasis on service excellence and operational effectiveness, the AVP for IT/CIO will work to position IT as a differentiator for the University while moving Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) to the forefront of peer institutions.

The CIO will work to continually improve technology delivery, strength of security, facilitation of research, enhancement of student outcomes, and the implementation of data driven decisions. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the AVP for IT/CIO will collaborate with campus stakeholders to evolve and adapt in the rapidly changing digital environment within higher education.

The AVP for IT/CIO provides leadership for all IT services of the University, encompassing planning, staffing, budgeting, evaluating personnel, analyzing systems, and ensuring accountability for department activities. Additionally, the AVP for IT/CIO works collaboratively with Texas A&M University System CIOs to achieve shared goals.

Additional responsibilities include:
• Establishing and administering data management and technology standards.
• Ensuring compliance with Texas A&M University policies and state laws.
• Development of new IT services; overseeing project and service portfolios.
• Providing personnel and fiscal leadership for IT.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT executive who has proven leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, and significant higher education experience. Candidates must have experience working with academic research, digital transformation, and online learning. Candidates should also possess excellent relationship building and change management skills.
