Position Summary:
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Southern Oregon University (OLLI at SOU) develops and
administers enrichment courses, co-curricular programs, special interest groups, volunteer
opportunities, and events for adults over the age of 50. The OLLI at SOU team is composed of a
robust cadre of volunteers who provide significant organizational leadership and work in
collaboration with university staff members to provide this spectrum of activities. Additionally,
OLLI at SOU is an Affiliate of the Southern Oregon University Foundation.

The OLLI Administrator is responsible for the successful operation of OLLI at SOU in
collaboration with OLLI volunteers, and has direct supervision and oversight of the work of all
program staff. The Administrative Director leads this work with a variety of internal and
external groups who support the quality, growth, sustainability, and compliance of the
programs and events in OLLI. The Administrative Director fosters a strong culture of
volunteerism withinOLLI, recruiting and cultivating volunteers with a rich diversity of
backgrounds, skills and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience recruiting, leading, and supporting volunteers.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and leading interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and at off-site locations as needed.




Preferred Qualification:
  • Master's degree in organizational development, management, or related field.
  • Experience developing and leading educational programs for adult learners.

Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism to effectively handle a broad range of sensitive interpersonal situations.

Special Conditions
•Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
•Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
