Old Dominion University (ODU) has a proud and longstanding tradition of excellence in distance education. A pioneer in this space in the commonwealth, the university will leverage this legacy to increase the scope and impact of ODU Digital Learning (formerly ODU Distance Learning). The university seeks an inaugural Associate Vice President of Administration to enhance the leadership of Digital Learning's administrative functions.

A new standalone division, Digital Learning will centralize and strengthen online education operations, staff, and support services across the university to extend the university's reach and enhance its impact as a leader in online learning. The new Associate Vice President will report directly to Vice President of Digital Learning, Nina Rodriguez-Gonser.

As a strategic partner and experienced administrator, the new Associate Vice President will be an indispensable member of the leadership team. Under the leadership of President Brian O. Hemphill, Digital Learning is the primary component in his plan for strategic university growth.

The Associate Vice President of Administration in the Office of Digital Learning will have significant prior experience with digital pedagogy and learning platforms, a record of successful online program development and management, demonstrated success in strategic leadership and change management, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The successful candidate will have a record of success in ensuring performance excellence, establishing best practices, and unifying a diverse team for a common goal. They will have a strong appetite for inspiring and executing innovative change.

Founded in 1930 as a division of the College of William and Mary and granted independent status in 1962, Old Dominion University is a dynamic, minority-serving R1 public research institution that provides educational opportunities for nearly 24,000 students through traditional and online undergraduate and graduate programs, strategic partnerships, and active civic engagement.

Located in the coastal city of Norfolk, VA, between Washington, DC and Raleigh, NC, Norfolk is home to the world's largest naval base and the North American Headquarters for NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
