Professor of Mathematics

SCAD seeks a full-time professor of mathematics to contribute to the development of students as critical thinkers by providing an intellectual foundation that prepares them for their creative futures.

Mathematics is an essential component to students’ understanding of their chosen disciplines from animation to architecture, industrial design, and more. As a professor, you will advance curricular innovation and provide students with engaging learning experiences in classes such as College Mathematics, Mathematics of Computer Science, Algorithm Design and Analysis, and Logic. Among other responsibilities, you will also help foster creative and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The successful candidate can motivate students to think critically and creatively about the world around them while helping them understand the value of mathematics in the creative process and in their future careers. The candidate also should demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with diverse students and faculty at a preeminent art and design university.

Requirements

- Terminal degree in a relevant discipline
- Professional experience in related professions
- University-level teaching experience

Minimum Qualifications:

- Terminal degree in the discipline or in a related field.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
- Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.

Work Hours:As noted in the Employment Agreement.
