Job Description:

Farmingdale State College invites applications for an Assistant Dean of the School of Engineering Technology Division of Computing.  This newly created position will report to the Dean and undertake both managerial and leadership activities associated with the Division of Computing including faculty development, budget planning, curricular oversight, and accreditation. Successful candidates will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to advance the College's newest academic unit.  The Assistant Dean will work with Division Program Coordinators and staff to support baccalaureate programs in Computer Science, Computer Programming and Information Systems, Computer Security Technology, and Security Systems enrolling approximately 800 students.  This is a 12 month position.

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in a computing-related discipline.
  • 7 years of full-time teaching experience in a computing-related program.
  • A record of academic leadership as chair, assistant chair, program coordinator or related roles.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with instructional technologies and learning management systems such as Brightspace.
  • Accreditation including ABET.
  • Cultivating synergy across related academic programs.
  • Experience in developing/launching new curricula and programs in relevant fields.

Additional Information:

This is a 12-month UUP faculty position.
