Dean of the Honors College

The University of South Alabama invites applications for the Dean of the Honors College. The Honors Program at USA has a long history of challenging students with scholarly/creative activities and enhanced curricular opportunities, facilitating cultural enrichment experiences, and encouraging engagement in community service. The College currently enrolls 310 students across its multiple Honors tracks and levels representing all Colleges/Schools of the University.

The Dean of the Honors College will report directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President, and will be responsible for curriculum development, faculty recruitment, supervising student advising, budget administration, coordination of the admissions application process, and coordination of the scholarship program within the Honors College, as well as oversight of Senior Honors thesis projects for University and Departmental Honors.

The successful candidate will have an academic record meriting appointment as an associate or full professor and meaningful higher education administrative and management experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in undergraduate honors education and demonstrate evidence of effective leadership in academic program administration. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to innovative approaches, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to fostering cultural diversity and inclusion, and be strongly student-focused.
