Endocrinology Research Assistant Professor

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time scientist as a Research Assistant Professor. 

This position will continue to develop a research program in the regulation of cardiac contractility in the diabetic state. Candidates must have a M.D, PhD. Or equivalent degree with previous experience with animal models with deletion of insulin signaling targets, including mouse husbandry using Cre/Lox systems, skeletal muscle and heart dissections, and experience with in vivo measurement of cardiac function. Candidates must have an interest in research in an academic setting and a record of publications in the relevant field. Desirable qualifications are: Expertise in biochemical and molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, mitochondrial function assays, and experience with analysis of echocardiography and cardiac cath data in mouse models
