The Division of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences (RMAS) at University of California, San Diego ( http://radonc.ucsd.edu ) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is seeking multiple faculty medical physicists at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join a growing team.

The UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center is an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The department consists of roughly 38,000 sq ft of clinical and office space. Equipment includes 7 Varian linear accelerators (iX, TrueBeams, Halcyon, Ethos), 1 Varian Bravos HDR Unit, 3 GE CT scanners as well as 3 gantry and 2 fixed beam Varian ProBeam sysetm. Treatment planning is performed with EclipseBrachyVision-VariSeed and associated tasks are done within the ARIA system. The department also includes 5 AlignRT surface imaging systems and 1 Xoft device. The Division of Medical Physics covers a range of clinical services including: 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, IGRT, motion-management, HDR, LDR, TBI, TSET, IORT, pediatrics, and proton therapy. Overall, RMAS serves 7 clinics in the greater San Diego area. Currently, our team consists of 19 physicists, 4 IT specialists, and a number of postdoctoral fellows.

The successful candidate(s) will have regular interactions with radiation oncologists, nurses, therapists, dosimetrists, patients, and their families. The successful candidate will primarily reside at our La Jolla or Hillcrest sites, though periodic coverage at our clinical sites in the greater San Diego area may be required.

Candidate must have a PhD in medical physics or a STEM field and Board eligible or Board certified (or equivalent) in radiation oncology.

Candidates with publications and teaching experience are preferred

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
