The Department of Radiology ( http://radiology.ucsd.edu ) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is seeking qualified candidates with expertise in Nuclear Medicine and an interest in clinical service and the teaching of medical students, fellows and residents.

The University of California, San Diego Medical Center is located in San Diego, California and is a level I trauma center in the region. The department performs more than 400,000 examinations per year and has approximately 150 full-time and part-time faculty. All imaging equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments.

The UC San Diego Medical Center is an 808-bed acute care and tertiary referral facility. Protected research time and research support are available. The hospital is an NCI-designated cancer center with multidisciplinary research opportunities available. San Diego County is world-renowned for its natural beauty, perfect year-round climate, gorgeous locales on the Pacific Ocean and incomparable recreational opportunities. Great cultural opportunities abound in San Diego County as well as in nearby Los Angeles.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for providing high quality training and teaching to medical students, residents and fellows and participate in clinical care of patients and/or basic research.

Candidates must have an MD or DO or equivalent degree and must be trained in Nuclear Medicine with sufficient expertise in cross-sectional imaging. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR) and/or Nuclear Medicine (ABNM).

Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be eligible to hold UC San Diego Physician and Surgeon Medical Group membership.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
