The Conservatory of Music at Capital University invites applications for the full-time tenure track position in Voice at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2023. The successful candidate will possess a substantive performance profile at national and/or international levels, evidence of vigorous recruiting strategies and student success at the college level, and teaching experience in vocal performance courses such as the lyric diction sequence and other courses as assigned by the Dean of the Conservatory. Additionally, the successful candidate will perform other duties as prioritized including administration of the voice department, student recruitment, academic advising and mentorship, and participation on faculty committees, while maintaining a current profile of artistic activity and providing service to the university and profession.  A successful applicant will enjoy working in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion. Salary will be determined on the basis of the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

  • Doctorate in Music
  • Demonstrated excellence in collegiate teaching
  • Record of successful recruitment on the collegiate level
  • Established professional profile as a performer and pedagogue
  • Effective interpersonal skills to foster and maintain professional, collegial, and supportive working environment for students, faculty, and staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Conservatory of Music is internationally recognized for its excellent performing ensembles.
