Assistant Professor or Associate Professor; Nursing

To teach and provide service to the college while participating in scholarly activities to enrich the educational experience for students

Essential Functions

Provide competent teaching demonstrated through articulation of the practice-theory relationship, incorporation of research into clinical practice, use of sound teaching-learning theory and techniques, and constructive evaluation. Utilize creative and varied teaching strategies. Serve as a clinical role model and teaching clinician in specialty areas of nursing. Serve as a director for appropriate NP tract which includes student advising, establishing and maintaining clinical site relationships, and maintaining accreditation documentation. Facilitate a positive, collaborative learning climate for students, including valuing of diversity, integrity, accountability, and ethical and professional behavior among students. Teaching assignments will primarily online didactics and in-person clinical sections; some courses may be in person. Evening and weekend teaching may be required. (60%)

Scholarly and creative endeavors, including research, publications, and presentations. (20%)

Routine service on college/university committees and professional organizations. (20%)

Minimum Qualifications

Assistant Professor:
Terminal degree in nursing or related field anticipated by the start date with at least 2 years clinical nursing experience. Ohio nursing license earned prior to start date.

Associate Professor:
All requirements for Assistant Professor plus established record of scholarship with peer-reviewed publications and grants; established teaching experience and service as outlined in the Nursing bylaws: https://policy.wright.edu/college-and-department-bylaws

All positions: Teaching and educational preparation experience in baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program; advanced practice status (NP) preferred. Doctoral preparation; Current and continued practice as a Nurse Practitioner; Certification in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Acute Care/Primary Care, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner- Acute Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner nursing preferred.
