The State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College (Maritime College), the first and foremost maritime college in the United States, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Dean of Student Affairs. Maritime College, located in Throggs Neck, NY, educates dynamic leaders for the global marine transportation industry, the business of shipping, engineering, energy, environment, facilities management, finance, the armed forces, and public service. The Dean will be expected to take office in Fall/Winter of 2022, no later than early January of 2023.

Founded in 1874, SUNY Maritime College is one of six federally designated State Maritime Academies and enrolls approximately 1,500 students. Maritime College seeks an experienced and innovative Dean who will embrace the collegiality of the campus community and collaborate on a variety of campus-wide initiatives designed to foster a vibrant student life experience and support students for their success at Maritime College and beyond. The Dean of Student Affairs serves as the chief student affairs officer at SUNY Maritime College, overseeing all major student co-curricular and extracurricular programs, holistic support services and initiatives, and departments and is a key member of Provost Jennifer Waters' leadership team.

The Dean's key responsibility is to oversee a team of more than 50 staff in the Division of Student Affairs, whose mission is to develop, support, mentor, and advocate for all students using a diverse range of personnel and services.
