ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR IN IRISH HISTORY

The Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a senior scholar in the field of Irish history, with a broad focus on Ireland, Irish-America, and/or the global Irish diaspora, who will also assume the Directorship of the Glucksman Ireland House, NYU’s world-renowned center for Irish and Irish-American studies. The appointment will be for a tenured position at the level of associate or full professor in the History Department and is expected to commence September 1, 2018, pending budgetary and administrative approval. As Director of the Glucksman Ireland House, the successful candidate will work closely with the Irish Studies Program, with its interdisciplinary course offerings and its ancillary archival, publishing, and public programs. Applicants should present a distinguished record of publication and extensive teaching experience in some combination of Irish history, the history of Irish America, and/or the wider history of the transnational Irish diaspora.
