Director, Alumni Atelier

SCAD seeks a full-time, experienced director to lead the successful operation of its Alumni Atelier program in idyllic Lacoste, France.

In this role, you will coordinate and convene the Alumni Atelier selection process, from request for proposals and participant selection to visas, travel arrangements, and accommodations. You will supervise, advise, and support participants in residency with various aspects of their grant commissions (e.g., reviews, budget, supplies, networking), as well as with residence life in Lacoste and possible expansion to other global locations. You will collaborate with other SCAD departments to publicize the Alumni Atelier program, help curate an exhibition of new work at the end of each residency period, and explore external opportunities for participants to further their creative careers. You will also travel internationally as needed for VIP events, art expositions, and international business meetings.

As the director of the Alumni Atelier program in Lacoste, you will lead workshops, assist with presidential initiatives, and interface with academic services to advance student community engagement. You will work with SCAD Giving to encourage, promote, and support charitable giving; collaborate with consulates and embassies to further the SCAD mission and gain positive PR/increased sales of artwork; and provide ongoing reports to the President’s Office. Among other duties, you will also coordinate art salons with SCAD Art Sales to spotlight the Alumni Atelier program and its participants to realtors, hotels, builders, interior designers, architects, and other interested parties.

The candidate delivers dazzling presentations and demonstrates advanced organizational and project management abilities. The ability to flourish in a fast-paced, ever-adapting environment is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Conversational French language skills highly preferred
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with specialist computer programs and web-based technology, particularly graphics and social media platforms

Certificates, licenses and registrations: Valid Driver's license

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
