The primary focus of the Assistant Director of Scholarships will be to manage awarding, renewal and reconciliation of University general fund and endowed/restricted scholarship accounts. Serve as liaison to academic college Deans offices, other university departments, and regional campus student services offices. Participate in developing software and programs to support and enhance scholarship administration.

Manage and administer the portfolio of scholarships held within The Ohio University Foundation, ensuring the complete and timely distribution of donor-funded restricted and unrestricted scholarships and maximizing private scholarship support for Ohio University’s students. Access and employ data in the University’s financial aid and business intelligence information systems – using knowledge of federal needs analysis and federal and state financial aid programs – when administering scholarship funds. Participate in developing software and programs to support and enhance the administration of various scholarship programs.

Manage awarding, renewal, and reconciliation of University general fund and endowed/restricted scholarship accounts. Conduct census review each semester, reviewing student grades and academic performance to track scholarship recipients continued eligibility for funding based on enrollment. Work closely with Sr. Assistant Director of Scholarships to carry out these duties.

Serve as liaison to academic college Deans’ offices, other university departments, and regional campus student services offices related to scholarship awarding and renewal. Manage scholarship processing for students with multiple admissions applications and mixed campus enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any field conferred by start date and at least one year of related work experience. Types of relatable experience may include banking, education, accounting, and other fields that are customer service or program management.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
